BrewBQ Jalapeno Poppers


We are getting ready for game day and we had to do BrewBQ Jalapeno Poppers. Let's face it for game day all diet and calorie rules are off. I looked in MyFitnessPal under snacks and there was a listing for Grazefest with 2000 calories listed and location Super Bowl Party. These are not breaded or fired so that is something. A great appetizer and something easy to bring to your next party. We made a small batch but you could double this depending on the size of your party. We baked them on the Traeger for some extra smoke flavor. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

4 large jalapenos

4 ounces cream cheese at room temperature

1/4 cup cilantro

1/8 cup BrewBQ Sauce Mix

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1/8 teaspoon onion powder

1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt

1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese

4 pieces bacon, cooked and crumbled


Warm up your Traeger and then set to 450 degrees. Slice the jalapenos in half and remove the seeds and ribs with a spoon. Make sure to clean the cutting board, knife and spoon to get rid of any jalapeno juice.

Using a spoon fill the jalapeno halves with the cream cheese mixture. Top each with some of the shredded cheddar cheese. We placed these on a pan lined with Reynolds Non-Stick Aluminum Foil for easier clean up. Place in the Traeger for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese starts turning golden brown. When they are done move them to a serving dish and top with the crumbled bacon. We used both turkey bacon and regular pepper bacon as our garnish.
